LOYOLA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The Loyola College Alumni Association established in the year 1965, was founded by the late Dr. Jose Muricken SJ. The Association thrived under the nurturance of Dr. Ms. Mariamma who officiated as the Secretary for an unparalleled two decades. Dr. EJ Thomas, Dr. Helena Judith, Dr. Usha John, Ms. Elizabeth Mathew and Mr. Sonny Jose too have contributed their best years for its growth. The lay participation was evident in the chapter activities. Our theme during “Bridging time” (2002) evolved to “Caring, Sharing & Growing Together” (2005) owing to the concerted efforts undertaken by the new generation.

The following are the major thrust areas organized:

• The Directory Team – update the address list; networking

• The HRD Team – HRD Programs; Jobseekers’ Course

• The Organizing Team – convene periodic meetings; extend hospitality

• The Publication Team – publish News Bulletin every semester; Placement Brochure
  

The following are some of the regular programmes organized:

• 'Meet the Alumni Series'

• Insourcing Workshops – where the alumni share their expertise and learning

• Professional Interface – where the students are group mentored by the alumni

• Sponsoring Badaam Communities – an informal platform for students to custom design and organize programs according to their interest and aptitude.
  

Other activities include:

• Yahoo groups – this is rich with new information regarding the status of the alumni . It is a major conduit regarding job opportunities

• College Website activated with photos, e-letters and message board

• Weekend MDPs, personality development and communication programs

• Tour/trekking program for interested participants
